Z Scale Z Gauge Marklin Railex  8770A Special Edition Adler Train Set
Marklin commissioned Railex, a specialty maker of brass railroad equipment in 1/220 scale, to produce a complete Adler Locomotive and Passenger Train set.  They specified that the set should run, and should produce sound!  Railex worked their magic and the result is the Marklin 8770A set pictured here.
The prototype:  The 1835 Adler Steam locomotive and tender and six carriages from that era.
The model:  Each car in the set is individually hand-crafted in brass by Railex craftsmen. The set is powered by a carriage car containing a coreless motor.  The sound car for the set is another carriage car and produces “chuff” sounds as voltage to the track increases.
The set is Like New, there is no dust from display or wheel wear. The power car and sound cars are working
(see videos).  The sound car produces the chuff sound (not synched to wheel rotation.)  Please review the photographs and videos, they are part of the description.
